Millermatic 350P

Millermatic 350 is the first single or three phase power unit of Millermatic that can weld materials from 22 gauge to 1.5 in thick in just one single pass.

Millermatic 350P has the Pulsed MIG Advantage, so whether welding steel, aluminum, or stainless, you can actually save thousands of dollars by improving the productivity of your work from thirty to one hundred percent. It also has the ability to automatically provide more arc power so as to eliminate a cold start that is expected from aluminum starts. Millermatic 350P also optimizes the shape and size of the bead width and appearance, arc cone, puddle fluidity.

Millermatic 350P’s line voltage compensation keeps the output of the power source regular regardless of any fluctuation in the input power ± 10%.

Tonight I got the opportunity to try out our new Millermatic 350P mig welder. In regular mig mode was great but holy smoke when I switched over to pulse mode the world changed and for the better.
In regular mig mode it’s sounds like your typical bacon frying and does a great weld but when you switch over to pulse mode it sounds like a bee buzzing and man does it ever weld hot and fast in that mode. I’m thinking I’ll be in pulse mode for a long time from now on

I love my MM350P!

When we first got the 350P’s at my old job, we were all used to pulse welding with very old CP250TS power supplies and Cobramatic feeders and very simple on-time/off-time Pulse+ pulsers. We adjusted volts, wire speed, on-time and off-time all independently of eachother. We had no hot-start, run-in speed, burn-back timers, or pre/post-flow timer adjustements to concern ourselves with. Very simple system for very simple people. We liked it that way and were all very adept at using those control functions.

Enter fancy new computer-controlled machines with adjustments we had never heard of before… all of us were baffled by the new machine’s adjustments when we first got them. We really didn’t know what to do, but we had to make them work for us, somehow. I hated the 350P for at first, cursing at it and almost giving up on it many times, untill I figured out what all the adjustments did and spent alot of time fooling around with all sorts of different combinations of settings and got use to what direction to adjust what to achieve what effect. Now I love it .

After welding with it every day in high volume production for 3 years and then buying one for myself at home, I thought I should know everything about it for every situation, but I find I am still learning about it each time I use it in a new way or with a different torch attached to it or different gas mix. It’s like a new machine all over again . Just spend alot of time fooling around with it and soon you will learn to make it work FOR you rather than fighting with it as your enemy. Once I got over that part, welding became FUN again!

Think of it as an XMT 304 CV welder, an XR feeder and a pulser all stuck in the same box with a cart underneath, for about half the money. It’s actually a pretty good idea that works great, once you get used to it! If you dont like the pulse, just turn it off, it’s still an excellent MIG welder, like a MM252 on steroids with more buttons to play with .
